Open Innovation Masterclass Laval

The Open Innovation Masterclass has been launched by Laval Mayenne Technopole to offer high quality training in open innovation techniques as effective tools for small and medium-sized business (SMEs) to meet the challenges of the current economic crisis. It emphasises the fact that open innovation need not only be used by big companies.

The Masterclass is aimed specifically at company directors and innovation managers. The objective is for attendees to take lessons away from training sessions to enable them to become aware of the value of the assets that exist within their own ecosystems and to apply collaborative innovation techniques to their relationships within these ecosystems. As part of this process there will be an emphasis on techniques which enable them to:

  • Draw from, and work with, both internal and external resources.
  • Integrate all the players in the ecosystem in the innovation process.
  • Foster collaboration whilst protecting their own interests.

Pilot course

This Masterclass is being piloted by Laval Mayenne Technopole. The objective is to train 40 SMEs from Mayenne by 2013 and then more than 250 companies across Europe as Open Innovation Project partners also run their versions of the Masterclass.

The first Masterclass was launched on 19 June and led by Bluenove, a leading Open Innovation expert and practitioner in France. It was attended by 7 companies and one laboratory who will participate in the full Masterclass programme.
