Digital Demand and Innovation

Digital Demand & Innovation - Boosting the Benefits of Connectivity

6 October 2011, Shepton Mallet, Somerset

This event was part of The Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival.  With superfast broadband being rolled out in the South West, the focus is increasingly on connectivity, convergence and achieving an improved economic outlook.  The challenge for decision makers is how to create engagement and encourage innovation with new technology to ensure business, education and other organisations take full advantage of the new opportunities, local economy and community benefits.

Engagement and demand stimulation experts, using the latest research in the field,  spoke directly to those decision makers about the issues and opportunities for demand stimulation programmes and the opportunities for collaboration and collaborative innovation that are enabled by the new technology. The workshop was aimed at:

  • Innovation centre/work space managers & advisors.
  • Collaborative/open innovation facilitators/practitioners.
  • Business advisors.
  • Business networks.
  • Local authorities and district councils.
  • Technology and innovation programmes.
  • FE college lecturers.

Workshop was sponsored by the Open Innovation Project, IBM, Southwest One, Somerset County Council and University of Plymouth.
